This "Daisy Jones & The Six" inspired song. The song is a story of falling in love with someone you know you can't be with. The song's production was done to give it a late 70's analog vinyl feel, with classic rock vibes. The cover design reflects that time frame as well. "Dragonfly" - The idea for the song came from my experiences while working at the hospital, being part of the support staff for the Eating Disorder Clinic. A lot of the girls would draw, have tattoos, or wear stuff that had dragonfly's on them. The dragonfly represented hope of new beginnings, transformation, new relationships and love. I started writing this love song (Pop style ballad) to bring these concepts together. The idea for "Walls" came from how we place walls around our heart and emotions because of past hurts we've experienced (just watch any Reality TV Dating Show) and how love has the power to break down those walls allowing us to find and feel the emotions of being loved again. "2024 InterContinental Music Awards Winning Song" I started writing the lyrics for this song after watching "Daisy Jones and the Six". I thought what if someone asked me to write a song about the show what would I come up with. So I wrote the first two verses and chorus to the song, with a simple melody progression. Literally the next day Mike shared a song melody and some guitar riffs he just wrote and said these are really cool can you write something to them. I was like, "Wow" "No Way" it was exactly what the song lyrics I just wrote needed. We never shared any ideas or even talked about writing this song, it just organically happened! "Try To Hide" is my first co-write release for 2023 and second co-write with my son Mike. This is the first straight up Modern Country song I have released! The main message of the song and the artwork is, “Love" is the thread/stitch that has the power to bring change, healing and unity to all and everything we face. Love is the counterbalance to struggles of any kind. The verses of the song are written with that style. Examples: “When I’m scared, love is my comfort” or “When I’m sad, love is my joy”. “Love” can change a person, which can change a family, they can impact a community, bring hope to a nation, and change the world! This song was inspired by Jackie Lithgow's story, Luke 1-37 "For nothing will be impossible with God", and quote "Don't listen to people who tell you what you can't be, but believe in yourself and inspire to be". Jackie Lithgow "A story of hope and determination" 2014 everything changed in an instant when Jackie Lithgow was assaulted during his freshman year of college at Bloomsburg University. He was critically injured, suffering a severe traumatic brain injury. Over the course of the last five years, Jackie has continued to overcome numerous obstacles, including a coma, blood clot, multiple infections, and countless surgeries. His rehab included relearning how to walk, talk, and eat. Today, Jackie celebrates the tremendous successes made throughout his journey as he continues his long road to recovery. He returned to Bloomsburg University, where he recently graduated with a BA in Mass Communications. The thoughts and inspiration behind this song were to bring awareness and hope. A Faith based song that was written directly from my mentoring/counseling experiences I had while working with those who have gone through physical abuse. Since I counsel from a Biblical Worldview, the song incorporates the promise found in Deuteronomy 31:8 and the hope found in Jeremiah 29-11. Stats and facts: On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men. Physical abuse can have lasting effects on your physical and mental health. Physical abuse can cause many chronic (long-lasting) health problems, including heart problems, high blood pressure, and digestive problems.
